Day 1 : The adventure begins in La Spezia, one of the most important ports in Northern Italy and the ideal starting point to explore the Ligurian coast by sailboat. After safety checks, checking the weather forecast and plotting the day’s route, we set sail for our first destination: Riomaggiore. The sailing is smooth, covering some 6 to 8 nautical miles along a coastline that is already beginning to show its rugged and colourful character. As we get closer, Riomaggiore appears as a cluster of colourful houses perched on the hillside, descending to a small natural harbour.
We can anchor in a sheltered area to the south of the village, where the mixed sand and rocky bottom offers good anchorage. It is an ideal place to spend the night, as long as you keep an active watch on the sailboat, especially if you spend the night on board.
With the tender, you can go ashore to explore the old town, stroll along its cobbled streets and, if open, walk along a stretch of the famous Via dell’Amore. The day can end with a dinner by the sea, where local flavours – such as pasta with pesto or fresh seafood – welcome us to this unforgettable voyage.

Day 2: Riomaggiore → Manarola
The crossing between Riomaggiore and Manarola is one of the shortest and most charming of the entire Cinque Terre route, but also one of the most symbolic. Although there is barely 1 nautical mile between the two towns, this stretch concentrates a scenic beauty and a history that make it unforgettable. Anchoring off Manarola (rocky area, look for sandy bottom). Day of snorkelling, paddle surfing and relaxing on board. Shore leave with the auxiliary to visit the village and do some basic shopping. Dinner on board with local products.

Day 3: Manarola → Corniglia (limited access from the sea)Sailing to Corniglia. This is one of the most unique of the Cinque Terre route, not so much because of the sailing itself, but because of the special character of Corniglia, the only one of the five villages that does not have direct access to the sea. It has no harbour, so you anchor in a nearby cove (e.g. Spiaggione di Corniglia). Access to land only if the sea is calm, with the help and caution. Alternative: anchor in Vernazza and walk to Corniglia along the coastal path. Night at anchor!

Day 4: Corniglia → Vernazza .Is undoubtedly one of the most emblematic and photogenic villages of the Cinque Terre. Its small natural harbour, its colourful architecture and its seafaring atmosphere make it an essential stop both from land and sea. From a sailboat, catamaran or motorboat, Vernazza offers one of the most iconic postcards of the entire Italian Riviera: colourful houses piled on the rock, a small beach, and the castle watching from above. At sunset, the golden light transforms the landscape into pure magic. One of the few in Cinque Terre with natural protection, surrounded by houses that seem to embrace the sea.

Day 5: Vernazza → Monterosso al Mare. The sailing takes us to Monterosso al Mare, the only village in Cinque Terre with a wide and accessible beach. From the sea, Monterosso reveals itself as an authentic living postcard: houses in pastel shades, colourful umbrellas lined up on the sand and green hills embracing the village.
We anchor in the western bay, an area more sheltered from the waves, ideal for a day of total relaxation. Here you can swim, paddle surf or just relax on deck in the Ligurian sun.
In the evening, Monterosso offers the perfect setting to end the day with a glass of local wine, anchored under a starry sky. If the bay is too crowded, there is always the option of finding a quieter cove nearby to spend the night.

Day 6: Free exploration of coves and Porto Venere. This is one of the wildest and least accessible stretches of the Ligurian coast, ideal for those who sail and are looking for quiet coves, crystal clear waters and unspoilt landscapes. There are no harbours or crowds here, just sea, rock and nature.
Outstanding coves between Monterosso and Porto Venere
1. Cala di Canneto: Surrounded by vegetation and cliffs, with a sandy and rocky bottom, ideal for snorkelling and daytime anchoring.
2. Cala delle Rosse: Small and sheltered cove with turquoise waters, perfect for a quiet stop and a relaxing swim.
3. Cala Byron (Grotta Byron) – Porto Venere: Just below the church of San Pietro. A sea cave with history: the poet Lord Byron used to swim here. Deep and clear waters, ideal for swimming and exploring with a mask.
4. Cala dell’Inferno: Near Palmaria island, in front of Porto Venere.
5. Cala Tramontana (Palmaria): Good anchorage with sandy bottom. Wild atmosphere, ideal to spend the night if the weather allows it.
